MANY PRIZES AT THE WORLD EXHIBITIONS



At the World Exhibitions in Milan 1906, Brussels 1910 and Berne 1914, the wristwatches of the ORATOR brand already won gold medals. In 1957, SCHILD & CO. SA an advertisement for ORATOR precision watches: There were a total of 18 model lines in all shapes and cases. Automatic watches and chronographs in various metal cases with magnifying glass and calendar were the speciality of ORATOR.

In the 1960s and early 70s, AMF Voit produced together with SCHILD & CO. SA. produced legendary diving watches modeled after the Orator "Sportsman". With the Swimaster line, Voit also supplied the equipment for many famous Hollywood movies, such as the 1965 James Bond film "Thunderball" starring Sean Connery.

THE BEST OF ORIGINALITY AND DESIGN

The discovery and revival of ORATOR and thus the new success story of ORATOR began by Christian Schmitt and Hans Meeder in 2012. While visiting the famous Swiss watch exchange in La Chaux-de-Fonds, they found and purchased a copy of the ORATOR "Sportsman". With this watch, everything fit together: well thought-out design of a diver's watch, design language, quality and, last but not least, the perfect name ORATOR. The watch experts could not get this discovery out of their minds. There followed an intensive study of the history of ORATOR and the company SCHILD & CO. SA. The result is the revival of the ORATOR brand, which had long disappeared from the market.
